In addition to matching the remarkable imaging of the VENICE 8K, the BURANO camera's 8.6K CMOS sensor also features Sony's well-known autofocus technology, which is a tremendous help for lone operators in demanding conditions with difficult focus.
With the same sturdy, dependable PL- and E-mount system as the VENICE series, the BURANO allows you to choose your glass from an enormous assortment of lenses.
All Super35 and full-frame PL lenses, both spherical and anamorphic, are compatible with the PL mount. Additionally, it supports ZEISS eXtended Data and Cooke/I technology for frame-by-frame metadata.
The E-mount supports metadata when using Sony E-mount lenses.
Available with Sony E-mount lenses, the BURANO camera's autofocus options include Fast Hybrid AF (phase-detection AF/contrast-detection AF) and Human Eye AF for accurately capturing fast-moving subjects even when you're operating alone.
A feature unique to the BURANO is its in-camera image stabilization for both Sony E- and ARRI PL-mount lenses, a first in digital cine-style capture.
This new PL-mount lens feature provides 3-axis pitch, yaw, and roll stabilization with high, low, and off options. E-mount lenses benefit from 5-axis pitch, yaw, roll, x, and y stabilization with active, standard, and off settings.
When faced with shifting light conditions, solo operators may quickly and simply alter their exposure thanks to an integrated, electronically variable ND filter.
This dial-style filter has seven stops of adjustment, ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 ND.
With its enormous 16 stops of dynamic range, the BURANO's 8.6K sensor captures amazing photos with extremely low noise across a variety of lighting conditions, from nearly complete darkness to bright sunshine.
Various resolutions and frame rates are supported by the BURANO: full-frame 8.6K at 30 frames per second, full-frame cropped 6K at 60 frames per second, Super35 5.8K, and Super35 cropped 4K at 120 frames per second.
The detachable VF/LCD combo serves as the BURANO's touchscreen controller in addition to a viewfinder.
Users of VENICE will be familiar with the "big six" (FPS, EI, Shutter, ND, Look, and WB) features, which are replicated by a convenient Home button.
Built on an extremely sturdy yet lightweight and compact magnesium alloy chassis and body, the BURANO is designed to survive even the most extreme situations.
